Honoring the Living History and Artistic Vibrancy of East Harlem
Latin Roots: East Harlem, a unique multimedia public art exhibit, celebrates East Harlem’s cultural and historical importance by honoring seven remarkable local heroes. The stories of the honorees are told by New York City public school students. Spirit of Community: Artists of East Harlem, a visual art exhibit reflects a vibrant and thriving landscape of art in El Barrio. With works by emerging and mid-career artists who make the neighborhood their home, the exhibit captures the sounds, colors, cadences, textures, and people of the East Harlem mosaic, celebrating its joys and its pathos.
The exhibits open on February 6, 2012 and run until June 30, 2012. For any further information, please feel free to contact The Dwyer Cultural Center by telephone at 212- 222-3060 or by email at info@dwyercc.org.
